1. Who we are
Alpha IOS (alphaios.com) is a personal website that presents the work of one private individual who builds software under the pseudonym Papa Bear: the Alpha IOS technology layer, its components, and related projects in the Papa Bear ecosystem.
Alpha IOS is not a company, a partnership or a registered business. It is run by an individual based in the United Kingdom. In this document, “Alpha IOS”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Papa Bear as the owner of the site; “you” means anyone visiting it.
The pseudonym is used for professional reasons. Where the law requires it — for example a valid request from a regulator or a court — the owner’s identity will be disclosed to that body. If the legal form of Alpha IOS ever changes (for example, it becomes a company, or starts selling products or subscriptions), this document will be updated before the change takes effect.
2. Terms & Conditions
By using alphaios.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2.1 What this site is
alphaios.com is an information site. It describes work in progress, explains how the components are meant to work, and shows demonstrations. It does not sell anything, and nothing on it is an offer, a contract or a promise to provide a product or service.
2.2 Work in progress and demonstrations
Most components shown here are in development. Descriptions, features, names, timelines and statuses (such as “live”, “beta”, “demo” or “coming soon”) reflect the current plan and may change or be dropped at any time without notice.
Demonstrations are illustrations of how a component is intended to behave. They may use simplified or sample data, and they do not show the actual output, accuracy, security level or performance of a finished product. Do not rely on a demonstration for any real decision.
2.3 Information, not advice
Everything on the site is general information about the owner’s own work. It is not technical, security, financial, legal or other professional advice. Security-related descriptions (for example of Alpha Shield) describe design goals; no system can guarantee complete protection.
2.4 Copyright and permitted use
All text, graphics, logos, design, demonstrations and code on alphaios.com, as well as the names Alpha IOS, Bear IOS, Papa Bear and the names of the components shown, are © Papa Bear unless stated otherwise. All rights reserved.
You may view the site, share links to it, and quote short passages with clear attribution and a link. You may not copy, republish, sell or reuse the design, demonstrations, code or substantial parts of the content without prior written permission.
Automated extraction, scraping, dataset creation, and the use of the site’s content to train or fine-tune AI models are not permitted without prior written permission. Indexing by search engines is permitted.
2.5 Private area
The site has a private administration area for the owner only. There are no public accounts and no registration. Attempts to access the private area without authorisation, to probe the site for vulnerabilities, or to overload it with automated requests are not permitted.
2.6 Links to other sites
The site links to other projects, such as BearPresso (bearpresso.com), and may link to third-party websites. Each site has its own terms and privacy policy, which apply when you visit it. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites.
2.7 Availability and changes
The site is provided “as is”. We may change, pause or remove any content, demonstration or section at any time.
2.8 Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales.
2.9 Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere, you keep any mandatory consumer protections of your own country.
3. Privacy Policy
This section explains what personal data alphaios.com processes and what your rights are under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. The data controller is Papa Bear, the individual described in section 1.
3.1 The short version
- We do not track visitors. There is no analytics of any kind on this site — not even visit counting.
- No Google Analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no social-media plugins.
- The site loads nothing from other servers: fonts, images and scripts are all served from alphaios.com itself.
- There are no forms, accounts, newsletters or payments for visitors.
3.2 The one cookie we use
The site sets a single technical cookie, aios_session. It contains only a random identifier, is used for site security (protecting forms against cross-site request forgery and running the owner’s login), is never used for analytics or advertising, and is deleted when you close your browser. It is strictly necessary for the site to work securely, so it does not require consent.
3.3 Security records for the private area
If someone tries to sign in to the private administration area and fails, the time of the attempt and the IP address it came from are recorded in a security log. This is used only to block repeated attempts and to investigate misuse. Ordinary visits to public pages are not recorded by the site. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.
3.4 Server logs and hosting
The site runs on servers operated by a hosting provider (Hostinger). For security and to keep the service running, the hosting and network-security providers may keep standard technical logs, which can include IP addresses, for a limited period under their own policies. We do not use these logs to identify visitors.
3.5 If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation, and we delete it when it is no longer needed. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering you.
3.6 Who receives data
No one buys or receives your data from us. The only third party involved is the hosting provider that runs the site. We will disclose information only if the law requires it.
3.7 Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask for access to your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Write to us (see Contact). Because the site does not record ordinary visits, in most cases we hold no data about you at all.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to deal with your concern first.
3.8 Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
3.9 Changes to this policy
If the way the site handles data changes — for example when analytics, interactive demonstrations that accept input, accounts or payments are introduced — this page will be updated before the change goes live, and the date at the top will change.
